On the plus side, if you go with GS-X's, I'm sure that you will like the automatic re-spot capabilities of these machines, so that you won't have to do re-spots for league bowlers any more you will probably also encounter fewer problems with mis-scoring, and they will be easier to diagnose & fix if you do encounter them. As to parts, for ordering parts/ keeping parts in stock, there aren't any more problems with GS-X's overall than what you would have with any machine and/or any other parts supplier as to quality of parts, as 2423 said, there are just a handful of parts that are of questionable quality and/or design- but again, that's something that at least in my experience you would encounter with any machine, and for most of these such parts, we've found ways to overcome the quality/design issues here, as I'm sure most (if not all) of the other mechanics on this site have, as well. Electrically/ electronically, they are pretty much on par with the 90XLi's, and I would say probably about equivalent to the 82-70's as far as how complicated they are to work on, so there shouldn't be any issues for you in that area.

B is continually attempting upgrade the machine and make them even better with minor alterations on the machines and most of the time they make that alteration avalible on the older machines as well. Other than the light issue I beleive that they are a very good machine. What I have found the most frustating is the nubmer of 1 & 2 ball lights keep going out as well and the lane lights do not seem to last as long as I beleive they should. Now I keep 2 on hand and my supplier also keeps a couple on hand as well. I have only had 1 part break that was on back order for 2 months. Most parts I have been able to obtain from my suppler over night if needed. I have been able to resolve issues by phone at an in home 2 laner by phone as well. I have repaired a number of issues by phone talking to untrained ball chasers and the owner. Once you understand the cycleing of the machine you can tell what most issues are before you get back to the machine. There are a few minor parts that do break a little to often for me but most are 1 - 3 minute repairs.
Then they go back up to 5000-7500 and at time over 10000 for a few weeks. When we are swamped and are b mechanic can not get everything done (when the school kids are in) after about 2 weeks my FPS dropes to about 3500 untill they are cleaned again. As long as they are clean they run very well. Over all they are as good as they are maintained.
